I like this movie better than the 2014 one, I hardly kept my eyes open in the 2014 one, but this one never gets old no matter how many times i've watched it...<br /> Matthew did an amazing job portraying the Nick character and stole my heart right away, he was believable as a worm scientist and had such an intelligent naive vibrant character that made the story alive...<br /> The french man also did a great job, I love the fact that it's not just a "monster" movie, but it also consists of action, romance, suspense and sci-fi. the CGI was quite good for a 1998 movie...<br /> Unlike the 2014 one, this movie has an actual storyline and the main character really did something significant to the plot... Despite many rejections and obstacles in the relationship, I think Nick Broderick developed a good chemistry of romance with his lady counterpart...<br /> The "tension-building" or progression in this movie is also great, and despite having some flaws, i think the plot is pretty neat and concluded with a satisfactory ending (once again unlike the 2014 movie). I wish they made a sequel of this movie instead rather than rebooting it... <br /> Despite the amount of the negative reviews, if you've never watched this movie, just be prepared, it might be better than you expected!
