Had to admit that the usage of technical jargon in this movie are quite a lot, especially in the middle of the story.

It was bit complicated for me to read through the subtitles plus processing of what they actually means. They talk about a lot of things just in one line.
I'm not blaming the movie, it just that I'm a slowpoke.

I watched this on Netflix so I can pause or rewind whenever I missed something but if I watch this on cinema, I guess I'll missed a lot.

Anyway, superb storyline! Can't wait for the sequels!
This movie is 100x wayyy better than any Godzilla movie ever made. This I can assure you.

For once, this style was actually so beautiful and really well executed. I wasn't so big on the story though - a little too intense and complicated for me, especially trying to read through the subtitles. The voice acting was fantastic, though.

So you can anime-nize a Godzilla movie... and ruin any potential fun by giving Urobutcher the screenplay. A rather bland setup for the sequels...

The plot is nothing spectacular but it presents some interesting ideas. The real problem of the film is the animation, really flat, cold and makes the characters and action scenes flat, boring. Overall is enjoyable, but it's definitely a wasted opportunity since the story was at least quite original.

For a movie with the title "Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters," surprisingly little time is spent on a planet here, and there are also astonishingly few monsters to be seen. Godzilla in particular takes forever to even make an appearance; in fact, it takes almost an hour, with a net running time of around 82 minutes. I never imagined that this issue would be more severe in an animated film than in a live-action one.

Instead, there is a lot of talking in dark, sparse rooms. The tone is deadly serious throughout, so there's never even a hint of fun. The characters also remain bland throughout, and the animated version of Godzilla doesn't even look that good. The genre's advantages are completely ignored, which calls into question the film's overall purpose. I'll have to see if the two sequels can improve.

Lots of graphs and copy & paste characters, with a generic angry main protagonist leading the fight against a mainly stationary Godzilla in uninspiring, repetitive scenery. Godzilla looks cool though. And the score is great too.

Attack on titan meets gundam meets Godzilla! Very good but not the best but for a 3D anime movie it's top tier stuff. Great for fans of sci fi or post-apocalyptic movies, but Godzilla fans might miss some of the fun of it.

The release of an animated Godzilla series does not interest me, but my love of Godzilla compels me. So, I watched this and was not surprised that the impact of the King of the Monsters is not what it is in the rubber suited or CGI/live action movie versions. They did manage to portray the size and scale of Godzilla here, which I didn't think they'd be able to do. Big G is a massive, hulking mountain here.

Conceptually this is interesting but the characters are flat and it's tough to differentiate most all of them from another. The emotional heft of Godzilla's presence on the Earth and the way that it keeps humankind off the planet is communicated with plenty of desperation, but I never really felt anything for them.

Interesting this vision of Godzilla, what provokes and how they fight against him

Holy crap this was dark and miserable. Looks lovely though. I hope the sequels have a little more hope in them.

From the very beginning, the beautiful visuals were stunning but the slow pace of the story and the endless technical jargon ruins any potential this movie had. It was a bit enjoyable after all but the slow pace made the movie very boring at times.

@binge-watcher I agree, I enjoyed the movie, but I dozed several times in some scenes.
