Well...
I'm feeling a bit awkward amongst those other opinions...
Actually, I really enjoyed this movie : the plot is pretty simple but there are some good laughs and the overall feeling is pleasant.
I'm reviewing this with some time between now and the moment I saw it, and I don't have an awesome memory for this kind of thing, but I must say I spent a good evening.
This is neither overcomplicated or hollow, this is just a simple and efficient plot, I suggest you see it if you want to make your own opinion.

A Great comedic trio making for a lucky heist.

This movie delivered with the right story and a fun pace. Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, And Alan Arkin compliment each other in a great way.

It's an easy watch and a fun movie! Just enjoy it!

This movie is in the same league as 'Hell or High Water' but for some reason that movie got highly praised and this one trashed. I can't quite figure it out, maybe because the plot of this one is more straightforward and didn't pretended to be something it isn't.

This movie is the definition of meh. Its listed as a comedy but not really any laughs. Its feels like its just a simple story that is getting told. I like Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine but they don't have much to do in this movie. Christopher Lloyd does have a funny small role. This seems like the definition of a wait and watch on Netflix.

I fully agree with you. It is short on the comedy and the dialogue could have been better. I really like the cast though.

"Going" in the title refers to "going to the toilet" because this film is a giant turd Zach Braff is dumping in your lap.

I'd love to go into more detail about the lack of story but I was distracted by the snores of the bloke sitting behind me. This is not hyperbole, I snapped photos of him on my mobile as concrete evidence.

"Going in Style" is unfunny, uninteresting, and predictable; and using rampant corporate greed and the plight of destitute elderly people as a plot device is criminal. I'm afraid I'm being too subtle: Of the 96 movies I've seen in the cinema so far this year, this is the absolute worst.

'Going in Style' is a fun one!

I got more entertainment than I was expecting, given I had anticipated a somewhat half-arsed 90 minute comedy with potentially half-arsed showings from stars of yesteryear. Pleasantly, I was wrong. The more it went on, the move I enjoyed it. The one lame scene comes at the supermarket, but even that saves itself really with the addition of Kenan Thompson.

It made me laugh at a few moments, namely with the 'E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial' 'homage' and when Josh Pais' character does the cat thing the second time (it's barely visible, just about in shot) - both funny! The masks were a nice touch, too. And that last scene with Annabelle Chow & Nancy Sun is so dumb but I'm totally here for it.

It's paced well, has a strong second half and, also, features a well done bit with John Ortiz's character in there too. A swell surprise, all in all. I would happily rewatch it. Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman and Alan Arkin make for a great trio!

'The Bucket List', 'Last Vegas', and 'Going in Style' - the complete trilogy of "I'm too old for this shit" for Morgan Freeman's career.

Then again, even at a young age Freeman still looks old.

Anywhere, the amount of charm and class displayed on screen by Cain, Freeman, and Arkin made this movie a step above average.

I listened to Zach Braff and Donald Faisons Podcast, so i knew it is a Zach Braff Movie. And i know, that a movie like this i like a big cruise ship. You have a course, so you can only make slight movements. In the end this movie does not hurt. It's okay and Zach did a good job.

Yeah i have some scenes and parts that i did not like that much or made eyes roll (Supermarket), but hey, this movie is enjoyable every minute you watch.

So give it a try. It's your feel-good, Sunday afternoon movie.

Charming, fun, nice bit of excitement, zips along, doesn't overstay its welcome.

Well worth a watch. Sadly the premise is extremely true in these chaotic times.

Had no idea it was a remake until I came here to say this.
