This movie was alright, but I was expecting a lot more out of it. Based on the advertising, I was expecting something near the caliber of 'Wolf of Wall Street' or ' American Hustle', but this film just fell flat in comparison. I have to admit that Matthew McConaughey's performance was superb (as usual), but his performance alone could not carry the weight of the entire production. So I give it 5.0 for being average, and McConaughey's performance brings it up to a 6.0. But don't listen to me, its still worth watching to develop your own opinions.

**In my opinion, this movie is better than alright. It's really good! Great acting from Matthew Mcconaughey, Corey Stoll, and Edgar Ramirez.**

**For those of you that felt somewhat disappointed about the production of this film, your expectations were set way too high! This movie was made on a $20 million dollar budget. The Wolf of Wallstreet and American Gangster were both big budget ($100M) films.**

**I rated this movie 7/10**

There's an interesting story at the heart of this film, but it takes a lot of digging to get there.

A movie I have been waiting to see!

Mathew McConaughy out did himself in this movie, I was expecting a Wolf of Wall Street type of movie. Gold in the 80s and the insanity of the stock market mixed with the Jungles of Indonesia.

It wasn't the pace that I expected and I was hoping for better even when McConaughy carried the movie, it's a fun watch and interesting story with a lot of twists.

This movie is much better after second view. It raised for me from 5/10 to 8/10. It is maybe only me, but for it really helps to watch it twice.

I can't believe this is a true story. I found it to be fascinating actually. At one point I didn't even know what was happening anymore because it was such a twist.

The storyline was great, although sometimes a bit slow. All the actors were amazing but I guess I had higher hopes for this movie knowing which actors were in it. The movie itself just missed something. Matthew McConaughey and Edgar Ramirez were amazing. Matthew McConaughey looked so different in this film, totally getting into his character. I love that.

I recommend you to watch Gold, but do not expect the greatest movie ever.

Matthew McConaughey makes a great effort but Gold can not equal his dedication. It very much an attempt to be Wolf of Wall Street but the story is far too disjointed to reach that status. McConaughey keeps the story interesting but the movie goes through a lot of sharp turns that feel very unnatural.

Like a littler version of Wolf of Wall Street. Think of it as Wolf of Wall Cul-de-Sac. The only reason I can think of to watch this would be for Matthew McConaughey's performance.

Candidate for worst movie of the year. Really poor editing and story telling turned this hour long film into two very long winded hours.
