GOLDFINGER had everything. It stands as perhaps THE icon of 60's movie-making and for those lucky enough to have been around then, it remains the most beloved of nostalgic revisitations.

Goldfinger, it's the film
The film with the golden stars
All five full stars
Such a fun singer
Beckons you to watch this film of fun
So don't you run

Golden music will pour in your ear
And the girls will certainly make you peer
For a golden girl knows when he's kissed her
It's a scene of sex from Mister Sean Connery

My favorite of the Bond movies. Gold finger is a work of art. Great story, fun, exciting and dangerous all in one. The character of Goldfinger is complex and dangerous but never to much for James Bond. A great movie!

Who could fail to love Goldfinger (the movie that is). I feel they had fun with this movie

The first time any real gadgets have been seen, if you discount the pretty lame suitcase given to 007 in his last outing; here we get a car [iconic] with a few useful options added by Q and the first real henchman in Oddjob

Powerful music, great acting, wonderful scenery, gadets, this film has it all in spades

James Bond Complete - Movie #3

After watching this again, I still think it's easily the best of the first three 007 entries. It's got the best bad guy, the best henchman, the best evil plot, the most action. The set design by Ken Adam rivals that of "Dr. No". Goldfinger's office unfolds into a huge playset that he can use to demo Operation Grand Slam with other mobsters.

I've been paying attention to the opening credits for each film. This one's opening, accompanied by the theme song, is truly iconic. The tune will never be my favorite, though. I can't handle Shirley Bassey's wailing.

The Aston Martin makes its first appearance and it has to be the pinnacle of gadget-laden cars in movie history.

The Bond series hits its stride in Goldfinger, an exciting and thrilling action film. James Bond is sent to investigate the activities of a suspected gold smuggler, Auric Goldfinger, but discovers that he has more nefarious scheme afoot. With the addition of fantastical gadgets and superhuman henchmen, the Bond formula really comes together in this film. Additionally, the story is full of fun, colorful characters like Odd Job and Pussy Galore. However, the film still has issues (mostly related to the style of filmmaking at the time). Goldfinger takes the Bond series to a new level and delivers a thrilling adventure.

Here we are...only three movies into the franchise and we have already arrived at my favourite. Goldfinger has it all. Great story, even greater villains, the first appearance of the Aston, first visit to Q-branch, and not to forget...the Bond girl with the most suggestive name.

No way around it, this set the benchmark for any Bond movies to come for years and is, in my opinion, the movie that captures the essence of what the character is all about. The quintessential Bond movie you might say. From Russia with Love might be the best spy-thriller, but Goldfinger is certainly one of, if not, the best Bond movie.

Despite being the third movie, many troops and stereotypes of Bond movies made it's start here. Probably the most iconic Bond flicks out there, and by extension the one of cinema's most iconic movies. ... I mean, it's great, but no From Russia With Love.

This is the best one so far. It has an interesting plot, a great villain, an unique henchman, a beauty Bond Girl with a funny name, a cool car full of gadgets and of course Sean Connery.

Goldfinger is the best "Bad Guy" in the first 3 James Bond movies. The plot is also very solid and the only annoyance is it's slow developing...

Goldfinger is Sean Connery's best Bond film and one of the best Bond movies in the series for me. It has everything you would want, a great plot, great bond villain and great henchman, and an amazing song. This was the first Bond song that stuck with me. Sean Connery is charming and charismatic as ever. While Goldfinger is a truly memorable villain for me, its his henchman that really steals the show. That hat can do some serious damage. Theirs plenty of enjoyable action and the showdown at the end is so much fun. Who can forget the iconic Bond girl Pussy Galore. One of the better girls for sure.

And so it begins... Not the Bond-lore, but the casual sexual assault....

There are a few scenes here that are very awkward viewing at best, reprehensibly worthy of being edited out for a modern audience at worst.

The lessons learnt from the upgrade of No to Russia are built upon. It's slick, flashy and polished - just like the fake gold.

It starts the last of the Bond tropes - the Aston Martin cars, the near-deaths, the inexplicably detailed explanations from the villains to the only man who can stop them...

But it starts the laziness. The plot and script aren't clever enough as they could be and the cracks are covered over with glitz. At least it gives us a more fitting ending than the first 2 films.
