_Greta_ is a familiar friend who comes to visit, and though she hasn't changed a bit, her outfit is new and stylish.

I consider _Greta_ to be a tribute to the stalker films of the late 80s / early 90s (_Fatal Attraction_, _The Hand that Rocks the Cradle_, _Single White Female_) with all of the WTFs removed. Neil Jordan (_The Crying Game_) delivers a solid thriller that you'll like if you remember it's meant to be suspense and not horror.

The beginnings a little clunky but it soon descends into a juicy psycho-thriller, reminiscent of those stalker movies that were prevalent in the 90's. Huppert is chillingly brilliant, closely matched by Moretz's put-upon girl in peril.

Isabelle Huppert and Chloë Grace Moretz are both great but the movie is kind of a drag. A few too many eye roll moments. The third act is interesting enough but doesn't make up for the first two acts.

The acting was good, and I love the premise of the story. However, after a good build up to the third act, it completely fell apart for me. Characters go from being realistic to just stupid. If you want a good thriller that leaves you satisfied, skip this one.

It is impossible to say for sure whether you will like this film or not, but I can say with confidence that it will definitely make you nervous and will keep you on your toes for a very long time. An ordinary leather bag becomes the beginning of unpredictable events. I had planned to see this film for a long time, but put it off. Now, after watching, I am greatly impressed by what I have seen. The excellent performance of the main actresses also deserves respect.

I feel this film had a solid premise, but, it decided to fall into cheap thrills. It seems it has a lot to say, but its themes get muddy. The film has an ever so slight twist, which, is a nice pop in an otherwise lagging story--- but then, the ending is somewhat of a letdown. Skip this film unless there is simply nothing else to watch.

Love the cast and concept, unfortunately it ends up being pretty average. If you like thrillers or this plot sounds interesting, you will probably enjoy your time with it. If you don’t, this isn’t anything to sway you.

Rating: 3/5 - 75% - Worth Watching

I love a good psychological thriller, but sadly, I struggled to find this one believable. A lot of the character choices I found irrational and improbable, and some scenes just didn't seem logical.

oh my, I absolutely loved this. The two main actresses fit into their roles perfectly. I'm very aware of Chloe's acting ability but she still continues to surprise me with the pure range she actually has.

one thing that annoyed me about this film however, though this does stem to other films like this, is how nobody listens to Frances when she is telling them there is a creepy woman stalking her. They only listen when she goes missing.

This film can definitely make you uneasy so do be aware of that. However it is definitely worth the watch if you're not easily creeped out!

Lol what a creep. I like movies like this though, straight forward and easy to understand, not too detail heavy or confusing. Perfect for when you're doing something where you can't pay every ounce of attention to the movie and still come out feeling like you got the general gist of what happened.

I'm hungarian and it was ridiculous to hear how Isabelle Huppert pronounced the hungarian words. If it was important to the story that she's hungarian she could have learned those few words more professionally. Or they could have chosen a hungarian actress instead.

I haven't seen a thriller before with a less scary psychopath in the lead role. First I thought it was just boring, but in fact it's also stupid and makes no sense. Every cheap teen horror movie has more logic.

[Amazon] The hand that rocks "the bag". Interesting reflection on how to face the absence of those who are loved ("a dream of love", says Greta). But Neil Jordan seems more interested in the burlesque side of the last part. The great Isabelle Huppert more lost than ever. At the end it is enjoyable if you give up and watch it as one of those "crapy movies" mentioned by the protagonist at the beginning.

From director Neil Jordan comes the psychological thriller Greta. When Frances returns a hand bag to its owner after finding it on the subway the two become friends, but Frances soon becomes concerned when her new friend starts stalking her. Starring Chloë Grace Moretz, Isabelle Huppert, and Maika Monroe, the film has a solid cast that gives good performances. And, Jordan does an impressive job at heightening the tension and suspense. Still, the plot is pretty formulaic; using a lot of standard obsession/stalker tropes. Yet despite its weaknesses, Greta is a frightful and disturbing horror film.

The third act redeems the whole film somewhat, it certainly breaks up the repetition of the first half. Not Neil Jordan's best, but it's far from his worst
