Yeah, this film is worse than the first one. I thought that, maybe, I was thinking of this one, that this one was the funnier one. But no. Before (re)watching the first one, I was thinking about the first one, except it wasn't the level of funny that I seemed to think it was years ago. And this one was worse.

I didn't necessarily find the first film that funny this time around, but it's shining a lot brighter now that I've (re)watched this one. I was very tempted to give this one a five. A six will do, though; what I gave the first one. I don't think this was a bad film. It wasn't that funny, that's all.

And one thing that sticks out a lot to me is the soundtrack. In the first film, the soundtrack was pretty good. But there barely seemed to be a soundtrack in this film. What's up with that? I mean, it wouldn't have "saved" this film. Not even close. But it would've helped. Sure, it was _there._ Maybe the first film's soundtrack was more impactful for me because I knew some of the songs. These films are easygoing and lighthearted, and the soundtrack in the first film complemented that.

Lack of funniness aside, I thought the likely underappreciated highlight of this film was Taylor Lautner. His charisma is practically palpable. Yeah, you could argue that his character was pretty similar to Jacob Black, personality-wise and performance-wise. I can somewhat understand that sentiment. But I didn't see that as a problem. Taylor's charisma and energy, not to mention his pure athletic ability, are all a sight to behold, and it's super unfortunate that his acting career has been so still. But if he had a significant say in that, as opposed to not being offered roles, that's fine. As long as he's living a good life, right?

There were also a few familiar faces, other than Taylor Lautner. For one: Shaquille O'Neal. He was an entertaining addition to the film. And like Steve Austin, which was a surprise. I 100% forgot about him being in this film. I'd say his character was my second favorite part of this film. And it was cool seeing David Henrie as one of the Frat Boys. He was the actor who played Ted Mosby's (future) son, Luke, in _How I Met Your Mother._ Yet another familiar face was Halston Sage. I only know her from _Prodigal Son._ But familiar faces are familiar faces, and it's cool seeing them.

Besides all that, I don't have any "other thoughts." Well, I do: that CGI deer could've been better. But this was a comedy film, so it's understandable.

Other than that, I thought this film was worse than the first one. The first one was more enjoyable, had a more memorable/good soundtrack, and thanks to the (more) lackluster nature of this film, the first one seems even better now. And it had more energy. This film wasn't a bad one but rather one among many in a single pond: and there are loads of ponds. That analogy probably doesn't make sense, but I don't care.
