This is a bland and cheap attempt to cash in on the "hip era" of horror movies made popular in the 90s by Scream.

@wolfgamealpha Yeah when it even has the same musical score as Scream in some scenes.

'Halloween H20', (such a stupid title) is a decent attempt of giving life to a tired franchise and bringing some closure, which later got ruined by 'Resurrection'

However, this movie aged really poorly, in my opinion. A lot of cheesy and annoying fake scares that got repetitive really quick. How many times can people walk into each other or grab shoulders. Basically a 90's slasher movie.

Still, Jamie Lee Curtis is fire.

If Halloween was made as if it was a Scream movie. With even the same musical score. This Michael is the least intimidating as well.
Though I always found the movie entertaining. With Jamie Lee Curtis in good form.

It’s hard not to see the influence of Scream in this film (the sequel is even playing on the TV in the background to make it obvious), but this semi-reboot at least manages to improve vastly on the last one, not least by bringing back Jamie Lee Curtis to the franchise for the first time since the original sequel and she alone makes this much more watchable. Bringing Janet Leigh into the film may be one meta reference too far and a little gimmicky but the film doesn’t dwell on it and at least manages to create some tense moments and doesn’t outstay its welcome. A much-needed improvement.

Fair and entertaining
When Michael gets going.
Is it a good movie,
Well if you ask
Jamie Lee Curtis
She will say no
Because the studio tricked her into being in this one
Promising to go in a certain direction with the story, which she liked.
Then well after she committed to the shooting dates, the studio pulled
a 360 with the story
Which Jamie hated but by then it was to late.
(True Story).

Yes this one steps away from what came before
With the hole 'Scream' and
'I know what you did
Last Summer' teen theme stuff,
Personally I love those
Types of movies but
saying that I like
My Halloween as it is.
Michael doing Brutal kills
With teens set up
Just to get fed into
The meat grinder.
(Leave all the teen drama
Out of it).
Still a worthwhile watch
and it's certainly not the worst one.
Side note
I think the title of this movie
Is pretty cool,
Straight to the point
and explains the timeline
of where this installment sits.

Jamie Lee Curtis returns for Halloween H2O: 20 Years Later in an attempt to save the franchise. Having faked her death and changed her name Laurie Strode has built a new life in California, but she still lives in fear of Michael Myers, knowing that one day he’ll return. Featuring an all-star cast that includes Jamie Lee Curtis, Michelle Williams, Josh Hartnett, and LL Cool J, the performances are fairly good. However, the continuity changes from the previous films are hard to rectify, and the plot isn’t really that interesting. Still, the kill sequences are intense and well-shot. While it pulls the series back from the brink of insanity, Halloween H2O: 20 Year Later isn’t quite able to rekindle the spark that started it all.

In the past six film i think "Why they aren't cut his head?" Well. Finally Laurie's do it! Thanks God. But how Micheal returns? I hope to see it in next one with a really good explanation.

I was happy to see a young Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Then I was sad to see him dead in the first 10 minutes. Glad Jamie Lee Curtis was back and finally giving Michael some of his own Medicine. I'm looking forward to the 2018 Halloween when they bring back Laurie again.

For my 31Days Of Horror. Easily my favorite after the first two, ignoring the other sequels entirely.

A loose and somewhat slipshod attempt to make a neo-slasher à la Scream. It's not good, but after the absolute clownshow that was Halloween 6 it feels like a breath of fresh air.

Let this movie be a lesson to us all that no matter how bad we can screw up, we can rise to mediocrity by pretending our mistakes never happened and hanging out with Josh Hartnett.

>"Michael Myers... yeah, right!"

People hate on Josh Hartnett, but after watching the last 3 Halloween movies that came out before this, this movie is a huge step up. Michael Myers drank some caffeine and seems more energetic in this movie. I like that Laurie had some strong moments in this, and got her heroine moment.
