I wish more musicals would get released like this after their runtime in theaters for people like me who have no way to see them live.

Incredible. A current twist on Broadway and on the Founding Fathers. Even if you've never thought you would love the theater, this is the one. Putting it into a film, releasing it for the Fourth of July, Disney just did something amazing for American Art. Bravo Zulu.

No spoilers here. I only want to tell you that if you don't adore and love hip hop like crazy, you won't find this entertaining, because it's nothing more than a 3 hour bad rap, without the girlz in bikini. The most overrated musicals I've ever seen so far.

Incredible performance from the opening scene to the very end. The movement on stage, the camera angles and the acting - wonderful. This is a must see filmed stage production. Includes camera angles you'd never see in the audience.

Well, I can certainly see what the big deal is. An interesting story. Amazing lyrics. Fantastic performances. I was completely blown away and actually moved to tears at the end of the show. Well done all.

One thing always bothered me about musicals that sing their regular dialogue. It always sounded weird and didn't feel like real music. Like it felt forced. Like they always should have just spoke that dialogue. While there's still a little of that in Hamilton, there's not as much as I think the use of rap significantly alleviates that problem, because rap can feel more like dialogue while still having a flow and rhythm to it. It doesn't feel as unnatural when you do it that way. I would love to see more musicals in the future use that as an idea to smooth out the stuff they need as dialogue, even if they don't want to stop the musical flow.

Aside from that, most of the songs were great. This show did a much better job having very few songs that were not as musically interesting as the others, so it kept my attention throughout. The sections with the king were a particular favorite of mine.

3 Thoughts After Watching ‘Hamilton’:

1. I‘m not a history buff and I admittedly know VERY little about our country’s founding fathers. ‘Hamilton’ is not a place to learn, it’s one that expects you to know — and that was the barrier for me to fully enjoy it. The political/history aspects were lost on me — despite an insane amount of talent and an incredible production.

2. “Satisfied” was my favorite number. Absolutely amazing.

3. Jonathan Groff was a DELIGHT.

Absolutely astonishing! The entire cast is incredible, but Renee Alise Goldsberry and Daveen Diggs nearly steal the show. Of course, the biggest star is Lin-Manuel Miranda himself, and his smart, funny, emotional lyrics, his beautiful music and his moving performance. "My Shot" is rousing and thrilling, the rap battles intelligent and funny and if "It's Quiet Uptown" doesn't have you in tears then you're not human. This production is wonderfully directed, I almost felt I was there.
