Happy Christmas

Eh, mumblecore's gonna mumblecore. That said, it's the best mumblecore movie I've seen by a pretty long shot. It didn't feel at pointless or boring as so many of those movies are.

Film 34 (Goal: 300) of 2024 This movie is boring, dull and a complete waste of time. I took a chance on this while looking for more independent Christmas films to fill in the gaps around the classics. The dreadfully low 5.4 on imdb should have been the red flag, but people get it wrong right? Well not here. While I like the two leads nothing here is worth the viewing. Long cuts, pointless dialogue (of which most is ad-lib but it doesn't help the film or make it more interesting). The colour palette is constantly dull and off-putting and in a way depressing. I would struggle to call this a Christmas film. Others seem to love it because it's gritty, and realistic. But that don't make a good movie and that's the case here. Avoid if you think it's a Christmas film, avoid if you don't.
