My expectation is never particularly high when sitting through an Elvis Presley film and yet somehow I'm still disappointed. I adore him as a singer, but his films vary from fairly enjoyable/watchable to downright dreadful. Unfortunately, I've just wasted 85 minutes of my life watching this trash!

The film began set in a meeting of a fraternal lodge named "Sands Of The Desert". Some extras were wearing fezzes, and as a Laurel and Hardy fan, I wonder if this was inspired by their 1933 classic "Sons Of The Desert." The fight and chase sequence toward the end also reminded me of some of Harold Lloyd's films. These scenes are only highlights for me, as I am a silent comedy fan. Apart from this, and Elvis's beautiful singing (of course), this is an unbelivably dull film that remains a snooze fest throughout. Even the songs that Elvis was forced to sing are all forgettable. I wouldn't make my worst enemy sit through this! (Actually author John Connolly DOES deserve to have this on repeat for the rest of his life.)

Don't bother with this!
