Haunter

One of the most unique movies that I have seen! Actually quite enjoyed it!

What a disappointment... I was never a big fan of Cube but loved Splice so I thought that this would be a decent, modern, horror story... The film opens with a bad looking CGI intro along with an ugly gothic font and zooming out on a fake looking house surrounded by fake looking fog ending on an even more fake looking skull inside an iris. So as you might figured out now - that already blew half the movie for me (and you bet your ass that there are going to be CG flames along the ride). Why not use practical effects if it ends up looking shit? What follows is a haunted version of Groundhog Day. The atmosphere is pretty lackluster and gets disrrupted with predictable jumpscares. The story for what it's worth is interesting enough but drags on for too long and seems to make up "rules" like it wants to. It all ends on a scene where the writers of Ghost Whisperer or the "trip" episode from Bones would have been happy to contribute. Hope he redeems himself with a good entry to ABCs of Death 2.
