Decent watch, probably won't watch again, and can't recommend.

If you liked "The Hustle", "Ocean's 8" (and maybe even "Ocean's Eleven"), then you might really enjoy this. I'm not a big fan of criminal enterprise movies without a great second motivator, so for me, I see this movie as a romantic comedy that does something extra.

As a romantic comedy, Jennifer Love Hewitt and Jason Lee do an excellent job at their stop and go romance, with Jason Lee just basically being bemused at the entire situation and JLH kinda of just being mean for most of it.

On the other end of it, while I'm less of a fan, Sigourney Weaver, Gene Hackman, and Ray Liotta play out a must more complicated parallel love story that lends towards the hustle more than any traditional version of love.

This is definitely a romantic comedy that does something different, or a hustle movie that has a special spin to it, but there are other movies that do it as good or better.

I think the key audience for this are people look for female empowerment movies, and this nicely joins that group of movies.

I'm not a big fan of romantic comedies, but I can appreciate a good romp, even if it's mostly silly, and this one is simply very likable and rewatchable due to the chemistry between JLove and Jason Lee, and just how cute they both are on their own. Hewitt's known for being such a sweetheart, and that combined with how unbelievably hot she is makes all the shit that Page gives Lee's character just roll off like water. That, and she's short, and wearing a miniskirt. And that's the main appeal of this film; the tone never gets stressful since it's all basically a cartoon comedy, save for the romantic sub plot/Page's character development, which are just as enjoyable as the humor, if not more so.

There are a lot of goofy hijinks, with Gene Hackman really hamming it up being the disgusting old codger on death's door, and Sigourney Weaver playing the shrewd and shamelessly perfidious gold-digger. Sarah Silverman doesn't get a lot of screen time, but she adds a lot in proportion, and is a perfect "faction" match for Jason Lee's bartender. It doesn't have the weight of _Definitely Maybe_, and nothing touches _Crazy Stupid Love_, but I will watch this every time I see it on.
