This is more than just a special feature on the blu ray I own for Apocalypse Now. This is a full documentary produced in 1991 about how hectic this film's production was. It reminds me a lot of the documentary behind The Shining. It isn't just a bunch of people talking about how perfect everything is and how they loved every moment during production. This is no publicity stunt, instead you're hearing a lot of trouble while making an amazing film. You see how much of a dick Francis Ford Coppola can be, how much of a pain Marlon Brando can be, and how real some of the scenes were (ahem, ox killing). Really interesting if you're into film production.

A movie so iconic, it just needed an accompanying documentary. And a good documentary it is for sure. It's not just a polished commercial or a cheap behind-the-scenes. Like the river boat crew from the movie, the actual filming crew slowly becomes insane and exhausted from all the chaos they had to endure in the jungle and what they did to themselves. It explains why the movie feels so intense.
