Very good movie. Not quite innovative but the atmosphere is great and the actors are solid too. Jeff Bridges is a bright star for sure but I just loved Ben Foster and his sick character (not exaggerated though) and I think that people responsible for smaller part casting did an awesome job. The young waitress character or the old man in the bank are small gems in my opinion.

And the music! Damn, so great and played a huge part in building and reducing the tension throughout the movie. Solid piece of cinema, definitely recommended.

Very disappointing, slow and boring and also it really didn't make any sense. Weak story. I cannot believe the 8.2 on imdb and 98%(!!) on RT

@great_vc I agree with everything you said. I've seen better movies of the genre with less votes.

@great_vc This is crazy to me! Feels like we watched different movies. To each their own, but I definitely felt like this was one of the best movies last year.

But I can't for the life of me figure out where you are coming from. You gave Moonlight the same 3hearts rating at you gave the new XXX. Seems like these movies just aren't for you or you're missing the points.

@traktdad @great_vc don't lose sleep over it this guy rated Harpoon a 7 and Pitch Perfect 3 a 6. We don't all have the same taste, some of us genuinely think a movie like this didn't make any sense and complain about it being slow and boring, but think Scream is brilliant cinema. The only people who found this movie slow, from what I've noticed, are slow people.

**Great storytelling! Just not my style...**

I went to see this movie with great expectations and left a little bit disappointed. Not because this movie is bad. Not in any way! There are some beautiful shots, great use of color and very good dialogue. I would even say that the dialogue between Ben Foster and Chris Pine is the best I have seen in a movie in 2016.

But I still left disappointed. Maybe it was because the music really didn't stand out or maybe because everything the movie told I expected to happen. It just needed an extra sparkle of surprise to get me fully involved. Sadly that sparkle never came. There just wan't a moment where I went from: "I'm watching a movie" to "I'm in the movie".

If you love movies you will love Hell or High Water. Just don't expect to see something that totally blows you mind.

The technical high point is the way the story is told.

**Great movie**
This was a modern western bank heist film. The shots and locations were great, it added a layer of authenticity to the film. You definitely felt like you were in West Texas. The pacing can be a little slow at times but it never drags as the dialog between the brothers is always interesting. Definitely recommend this movie, especially to fans of Westerns.

A really enjoyable film with some great performances. Chris Pine and Jeff Bridges were highlights. The dialogue was natural and the story was engrossing. I saw this about a month previous to writing this and have forgotten some of the detail. It makes for a boring review, I suppose. But I remember enough to highly recommend "Hell Or High Water". I'd watch it again right now if I had it lying around.

Modern western done right. Taylor Sheridan's script is fantastic. Jeff Bridges and Chris Pine give amazing performances. This is one of my favorites.

The subtlety of this movie met the sleepy landscape of West Texas perfectly, at least the theatrical West Texas. The dusty and vast Friday Night Lights Texas where desperation has plenty of room to roam once the lights go off. I personally can't wait to see that beauty whenever the time arrives, but I know I'm only visiting and will return to my modern metropolitan. These characters portray those people, that could not for whatever reason abandon their lives, with a certain weight in borrowed shoes. Strong people whose ground is shifting under them and falling back on things that use to make them whole or closest to being so. With all they have in this world they try to move forward.

These roles were modestly portrayed but had a sweet combustibility, playful scenes that could turn on the viewer. Plays itself out completely and then the action wraps around you at the same time one keeps in mind that the danger exists and could drop in on the story as the story moves towards its conclusion.
