cute story and the actors were great for it being a Netflix movie

I didn't know what this was going to be about, so the elephants were a nice surprise. I didn't see this as a love story as much as it was HER story. Anyway, I liked it.

I enjoyed the African scenery and the elephants. The rom-com part of it was mediocre at best.

Rob Lowe and Kristin Davis star in the Netflix holiday film Holiday in the Wild. After her husband abruptly leaves her Kate Conrad takes a vacation to Africa where she stumbles across an elephant sanctuary and get the chance to put her veterinarian skills to use, and finds a new lease on life. Both Lowe and Davis give solid performances; although the material isn’t that demanding. In fact, it’s mainly a not so thinly veiled PSA to save the elephants. Still, it features the elephants especially well; getting the audience to care for and appreciate them as they go along Kate’s journey with her. And there’s some fun fish-out-of-water comedy as Kate goes from the big city to the safari. Holiday in the Wild is formulaic and predictable, but it’s also entertaining and has a bit of the spirit of the season…in its own way.

It was pretty good. Despite Holiday in the Wild being not that much different than a Hallmark film. When someone leaves their love interest in a Hallmark film. You always know they will come back, for instance.

If you are looking for a well-made infomercial about the plight of elephants in Africa (a worthy cause!), this movie is for you. If you're looking for a Christmas movie that will put you in the spirt of the season then you should probably look elsewhere (the title should have been the first clue). The two leads have good chemistry and the movie is fine if not forgettable.
