An interesting premise and a great cast can't save this movie from being a bore. There's never any real reason to root for anyone and there is hardly any action to keep you entertained. I did enjoy seeing so many different pairings of the big cast. Jodie Foster and Dave Bautista should do another movie together. The few sci-fi elements were cool to see. I wish I liked it more than I actually did.

You could put Jodie Foster, Sofia Boutella, Jenny Slate and Zachary Quinto in an empty room for 2 hours doing nothing and I would watch it. Oh, wait...

But seriously, _Hotel Artemis_ isn't a bad film though it tries very hard to be. The actors and decor are sublime and the directing is on point. Sadly, the film suffers from a lack of a plot. Sure, there are minor story arcs that are all wrapped up nicely by the end of the film, but there is no main storyline with a villain to defeat and challenges to overcome. The closest we get is Jeff Goldblum, but he's only on screen long enough to make us wonder why he's getting top billing for a cameo.

_Hotel Artemis_ could've been worse if it had tried, but it also could've been so much better.

That's a disappointment. No relevant story, everything is just hinted. A painfully slow buildup that isn't even rewarded by a great finale. Neither very funny nor much action. And what good is it to have those names if you give them dumb and useless characters ?

Music was cool, though.

Hotel Artemis is a nice movie, with an amazing cast. The story is easy to follow and you don't have to pay attention just let it all unravel before your eyes. Some nice twists here and there and good jokes and action. I loved Bautista in this he's becoming an amazing actor in diverse roles although I love him the most as Drax (when we see him XD)

Good but not great.. no real story, just a bunch of people in the hotel to get fixed up "off the books" and sent on their way. Kinda just meanders along without a real purpose with everything wrapped up into a perfect bow at the end. If you never get the chance to see this, don't fret - move on with your life and you won't have missed anything of any value.

It's a Netflix time-waster because there wasn't anything else on... 6/10

There's not a lot of depth to the characters here -- not even to the few who have a third dimension. Nonetheless, the main characters do a good job with what they're given. The plot is paper-thin, as well, giving the impression that no one wanted to let too much get in the way of the set pieces. Case in point: all of the buildup to the introduction of the Big Bad, who promptly drops a Big Secret before promptly expositioning it in all its simplicity and then promptly being killed. No twists, no turns, no red herrings, and certainly no time to ponder any deeper meaning to it all. On the bright side, I liked the mood/tone of the thing and the production values.

What the heck did I just watch? The plot was just as random as all the characters.
The place has rules, with absolutely no consequences for breaking them. 3D printed guns don't come with bullets. The female assassin and the man-nurse had no reason to stay. They could have easily left in the same elevator.
There was not one redeeming quality in this film. Music meh, plot uber-meh, dialogue: like it was written for morons, visual effects - I'm pretty sure the original terminator had better SFX.

A stay in the Hotel Artemis won't offer many good Trip Advisor reviews - the rooms were filthy - but as an outsider looking in, this is a hotel worth spying on. It's a bit rough around the edges, with a thin script and little depth, but the action and the actors are good, not least Jodie Foster who gives her usual decent performance.

1:04 WTF! Who wrote the screenplay? You raise your mask to expose your face, just to announce "three minutes"? What trash!

Good performances by the actors, but a weak history. A movie that we'll soon forget we saw.
