An atmospheric indie horror film, House of the Witch delivers some frightening chills. On Halloween night a group of teens go to an abandoned county house that is reputedly haunted by a witch, but what starts out as harmless fun soon turns deadly as they’re killed off one-by-one. The acting is rather weak, but the script does a good job at building tension and suspense as the situation becomes more dire. Also, the blood and gore is gritty without being gratuitous. Still, the plot is pretty formulaic, hitting the usual haunted house clichés. House of the Witch has its problems, but it also has some creepy scares.

It is an ok horror movie. I seem to find some 70+ rated shows and movies overhypex* overhyped and plain to avae* average yet manage to enjoy and be entertained by some rated 50"+ so it is all about personal preference . As long as a movie is made well, has good acting and decent plot and lives up to its gent* genre I can easily enjoy average movies that most people lok* like to slam.
