Watched for Kristen Bell and her scenes were probably my favourite. Pretty sub-par flick overall... the plot and jokes were very cliché, making it all quite predictable. Personally, I didn't find it laugh out loud funny.
Maximo's character was irritating and didn't get the redemption you were expecting.
But it was a decent cast and Raphael Alejandro as Hugo, in particular, deserves a mention because he's such a believable kid actor. An easy watch for a lazy weekend but nothing spectacular to see here (well, apart from Salma Hayek in that dress! wow!)

This movie was pretty ronchy, which was pretty much expected but I was hoping for something more meaningful in the end. I mostly watched this because my husband is from México and it's not very often that you see two big Mexican stars as leads in an American movie. There was lots of humor that may go over your head if your not familiar with Mexican culture. And in the end it wasn't as bad as I was expecting. But I will say that I found the ending very disappointing. Everything was resolved too quickly and I really felt like Máximo did very little to change. But still, while it wasn't great, it was okay.

Interesting cast. Funny and charming. The comedic moments make you forget the very thin plot and character development. It still suffers from it though. In the end, it's still a funny movie, which maybe that's all it intended to be.

Really standard stuff here, basically a paint by number for the genre. Nothing particularly well done but nothing terrible either. Just really generic.

I liked it but missed half the dialogue. No subtitles when they spoke Mexican. The “feet thing” did anyone else wonder why he was rubbing his sisters feet. Was this a Quentin Tarantino moment? In real life maybe Maximo has a foot fetish. Creeped me out.

Weird mix of adult comedy and sentimental family flick. Doesn't work as either, and the performances and script offer very few laughs.

Curious little show. Some spanish bits without subs made me have to ask the wife what is going on, but I didn't miss much. Cast was surprising, this movie almost felt like an old Stiller flick.

This was actually very funny. I laughed out loud many times and the cast and guest stars were superb. Very charming movie, a big surprise.
