It's more like "I confess" to watching this film. This is certainly one of Hitchcock's failures. The entire story is built on one rather flawed principle (I won't give it away). But the film is a failure for many other reasons from the wooden acting, to the obvious wholes in the narrative to the uninspiring finale.
