hum... sequel incoming or tv show?

“In a world where the dead walk among the living, nothing is as it seems.” I Still See You is a chilling supernatural thriller based on a bestselling novel. When a lab accident kills thousands of people those killed return as ghosts called remnants that are stuck in an endless loop re-enacting moments from their lives, but 10-years after the accident a young girl notices that something has changed; the number of remnants are increasing and one may be out to kill her. Bella Thorne and Richard Harmon lead the cast and give pretty good performances; especially Thorne who has tremendous screen presence. And the script does a great job at constructing a world where seeing ghosts is a part of everyday life. Additionally, the mystery is very engaging and composer Bear McCreary provides an evocative score that heightens the creepy, atmospheric tone. A remarkably compelling horror film, I Still See You presents a disturbing vision of the supernatural.

Amazing concept that becomes your average "serial killer on the loose" plot line.

Some choices and mistakes feel silly and amateurish. At one point protag takes a journey to Chicago. In what appears to be a collar County the road becomes blocked and they must walk the rest of the way. With zero provisions or planning, they somehow hike the minimum ten to twenty miles by nightfall.

Several short scenes take place in alleys. They are supposed to be different streets, but the same alley set is used every time.


At another point, a character should. Be filthy and covered with dirt, yet they and their clothes are totally clean.

Nitpicks. The ghost effects are wonderful, and Dermot Mulroney is eye candy as always.

Oh, and you can tell it's directed by a guy by the costuming choices for Thorne. My eyes rolled hard when one scene had her braless in a see through white tank top, and the director made sure to emphasize that.

Anyway, concept is super cool and could be used to make a less cookie cutter, more interesting movie.

This is a decent movie. The story is pretty good and it's unique, I haven't seen anything like it before. This movie had potential but the characters are terrible and Bella can't act for shit. Casting her as the lead was a big mistake. Combining that with the terribly written characters and it nearly ruined this movie for me. If you can ignore that, I'd say it's worth a casual watch.

The soundtrack is pretty dope, though, and the visuals are cool.

Conceptually great but played out in juvenile fashion. There are some good moments here, especially at the beginning, but they are overshadowed by moments that are shallow and predictable.

Would agree that the general concept is interesting. But school theme is ruining it all :(

Something different. I thought the concept was quite interesting but wasn't executed all that well and the part about [spoiler]how they could only bring someone back on their birthday[/spoiler] wasn't really explained and made no sense. The ending [spoiler]makes it seem like there could be a sequel and expanding what the 'rems' can do, but I don't know if this film made enough money to justify a sequel.[/spoiler]

promising unique concept, poor execution

Good movie. Fun to watch. Something new.
