Judging by the other comments on this page, I know I am not alone in saying this: the movie was more than a little disappointing. It does start to build tension by the end after a fairly routine hour or so, but even with a little momentum, the film still ends flatly. A shame, because the cast was good, just sorely wasted by the weak script.

It's supposed to be about Del's struggles with humans and what happened to him after they were all gone. and the plot just drove way off and didn't even scratch the surface of that matter. what a disappointment when they have so much potential in this setting and cast.
and them playing emotional music when absolutely nothing happens is just annoying... wait, come to think of it nothing important actually happened anywhere in the movie.... wow...

55 minutes... of my life I can't ever get back. I watched this for 55 minutes and NOTHING changed from the first 5 minutes to that point when I switched it off.
Watching paint dry is more riveting than this 'movie' - at least you'll see it changing from wet to almost wet to fully dry.

I agree with others who have said that whatever creepy program existed in California related to implants and brain research seemed kind of tacked on and extraneous. Instead of a character study that simple tells the story of these two peoples' lives post-apocalypse, a twist is introduced seemingly just for the sake of having a swerve, which detracted from what the movie should have been.

Lol these people in the comments forget movies are made for a targeted audience, so of course they don’t understand this movie and why it’s good because they can’t relate to it or comprehend the bigger picture, It’s a “if you know you know” type of movie, it’s not a blockbuster movie made for everyone, read the description of the movie lol, if you only like marvel movies like the other comments then you’ll hate this movie

In short, if your a introvert you’ll be able to understand why this is a good movie, if you’re a extrovert or only like marvel movies then you definitely won’t like this movie and won’t understand why lol

I did enjoy 'I Think We’re Alone Now' enough, but it does feel like they only scratched the surface of the plot.

There's a lot of build-up, but not much reward. I still got enough from it, but I can understand the seemingly lukewarm reaction to this 2018 release. Away from that, I knew I'd get a strong performance from Peter Dinklage and he didn't let me down. Elle Fanning, meanwhile, is solid behind/alongside him.

The film sets the ambience well throughout, especially at the beginning, and everything onscreen is shot pleasantly. I did find some of the music, albeit all good, out of place/overly loud in moments. Elsewhere, I personally found the run time to be finely chosen, I just think they could've utilized the 95 or so minutes better.

This is a case of Not Everything Is As It Seems. This movie is a pretty character study helmed by 2 great actors Dinklage and Fanning. Some extra stuff thrown in at the end of the film could have been explored more but ultimately helped drive the 2 main characters together for the better.

How I rate:
1-3  = seriously! don't waste your time
4-6  = you may or may not enjoy this
7-8  = I expect you will like this too
9-10  = movies and TV shows I really love!

36 minutes in and...well could we not have left Grace in the car? I'll be back at the end
..if I make it. Update: finished watching and thought I had it figured out but didn't. An ok movie, probably wouldn't recommend but now I see why Grace was so annoying in the beginning.
