Visually impressive (when its not shrouded in darkness) but the story is muddled and sometimes boring. Flashes of brilliance in an otherwise bog standard tale of Theseus. This film will not be immortalised as a classic.

the film is a mixture of 300 with mythology, golden gods... and henry cavill... it serves to pass the time and if you like mythology it is at the same time a gift and an offense for the eyes

The story line in this film was lacking, but the fight scenes and special effects were amazing. It didn't live up to my expectations that I thought this film was going to be, which was a disappointment, but it wasn't as bad as a lot of the bad reviews here make it out to be. Freida Pinto was drop dead beautiful, and I can see Henry Cavill was a good choice now to be Superman in the next Man of Steel movie.

I discovered this movie on the Spanish-language channel UniMás while a game on another channel's at halftime. I don't remember seeing commercials for this around the time the film hit theaters & I can guess why (lucky for this film it made a profit). It's indistinguishable from "Clash of the Titans" or "300," which the channel's also aired. The actors I only recognized were Frieda Pinto, the guy from "Twilight" (Kellan Lutz), a guy who played Superman (Henry Cavill), Mickey Rourke, whose films are always on TV, & Stephen Dorff, always a character actor, never a celebrity. Since the SFX & audio & video are good, this film's decent enough to watch on TV for the sake of watching something on TV, but the story & cast ain't compelling enough for you to actively watch the film & do other things in the room like use your phone or sort laundry.

It's worth a watch and definitely better than Clash of the Titans.

The action is plentiful and looks quite good, so it would cater to the die-hard action fan.

I can't claim to be an expert on greek mythology, but I think this story has no real basis anywhere in the greek myths...as far as I know Hyperion was actually a titan.

Pure entertainment. I'm surprised some don't like it. It's an action epic with no dull moments. It's superior to Clash of the Titans in every way. Looks fantastic, especially in 3D.

There isn't really a plot.
If you like skull smashing & blood splattering, this is it - there is men vs men, men vs gods, & gods vs gods.
Good pictures, good fight scenes - but nothing else.

You need to put yourself in a very specific mindset, to enjoy fully this movie. It's a more epic and over the top 300, to put it simple.
But man, it's an hell of a movie.
It's violent, awesome, epic, it's everything you'd want from a big fucking gods vs gods movie.
If you remember to put realism and common sense in a little corner and cover them with epicness and awesomeness, you'll be fine watching Immortals.

Also, it's in a very good and not obtrusive 3D.

It looks amazing, graphics are awesome. Otherwise I didn't find it very impressive.

I like these Greek Mythology movies. This one isn’t bad but Mickey is a curious choice.
