Loved it. Lake Bell is so awesome. But I felt like the movie could've been a bit longer.

Quite warm and nicely done, a little quirky and funny movie, I loved Lake Bell's work in this project - seems a bit rough around the edges and trying a bit too hard to be an "indie flick", but overall I enjoyed it very much. For a moment I thought they hired real voiceover dudes to play themselves, but nope, which is a little bummer after the fact, would have been awesome if they got the real deal guys. The story is quite simple, but neatly woven around the main character - I recommend it for a slow Friday/Saturday afternoon

The daughter of a well known voice-over artist tries to crack the family business, facing tough competition from her father and his egotistical a-hole of a protegé. Despite a wealth of great comedians scattered about the cast it's not all that funny, even when a few short scenes seem to exist solely to lob softballs. The flirty romance that develops between leading lady Lake Bell (who also directs) and bashful everyman Demetri Martin is sweet and real, but only serves as a brief distraction from the ponderous central storyline. A cute concept that fails to blossom into anything of special substance.

This was really a nice little film. It is hard to believe that it was written and directed by a first-timer (Lake Bell, who also stars). Sometimes a film can just be enjoyable to watch without worrying about how ambitious it is. This would be one of those films.

Now I can't stop saying "In a world..." :)

In a World... is a cute little indie film but I was hoping for so much more. I really got excited about it when I first saw the trailer months ago and now that I finally found it I am disappointed. I thought that it would be different. It's not bad but not great also.

Carol is a voice coach, suddenly the opportunity of doing a voice-over for the trailer of a quadrilogy blockbuster from big studio came up and to do that she has to compete with her father, a well known voice-over star and a pretty arrogant man. The story is interesting at some points but it's not engaging enough.

I love awkward characters and Carol is one of them, she kinda reminded me of Frances in Frances Ha. But Lake Bell didn't shine as much as Greta Gerwig did. Don't get me wrong, I think Lake Bell did a good performance but sometimes Carol's awkwardness felt a little bit strange, almost exaggerated.

This film has a strong feminist message, showing that women should believe in themselves and acquire power in every ways in life.
