Interesting premise, with some great cameos throughout, but it all ends up being rather dull and drags or far too long. It's entertaining enough, but not something I'd race out to see.

This film has long appealed to me. Not least because it's got John Landis acting goofy. I'd love to remake it.

Imagine a young Michelle Pfieffer explaining to you why you should watch this movie, as a prime example of a new genre of movies where the protagonist ventures out into the night, compelled to complete some nebulous venture.... It would forever cloud your experience of watching it, right?

Well, as a male squirrel myself, there was such a young woman (...and, I really wanted her nuts). Soon afterwards, after staying up for three days, I rented it - cuz that's how we watched movies back then.

And, it was a glorious classic, right up there with, "To Live and Die in LA."

[Next on the list, Sue told me, was, "After Hours," (1985) by Scorsese...and, even though it lacked the punch to the throat I imagined I experienced with, "Into the Night," it did bring up a modicum of pure anxiety.] YMMV....

Great cast and cameos but what an absolute snoozefest. Stuff happens, Goldblum meanders through scenes as his sleepy, beyond overtired character running from his troubles. A young Pfeiffer's stunning however.

What an odd, interesting and entertaining movie. Cameos galore too. I watched the bonus features and Landis was talking about how he wanted a reaction of "hahhahah....oh." Like, oh shit, it just got serious. He definitely succeeds in that. I think its a bold choice and a fascinating watch. Also, a climax at LAX with guns being fired.
