I felt this film did Churchill justice, but again leaving out too much of how much of a toll the war actually had on him, skipping almost entirely the year the UK was on its own. A sense of how arrogant Americans are in general was conveyed fairly quickly by FDR'S own words of how Churchill must have liked him more than he liked Churchill. We Americans still tend to think higher of ourselves, perhaps in the youth of our nation that gives us the ignorance and bliss of "youth" as a whole still.

I preferred Finney over Gleeson, if you watch the two movies back to back. Both performances are very good, just my preference.

I simply love historical movies so I gave it an 8. BUT I'm extremely sick of movies flipping back and forth, past to even further in the past and back and forth between the two. It would've been much better to start with the whole France after the war right up until they left, then the entire WWII section and closing with the ending the way they did. Obviously once the vote was up, no one would care what happened on his vacation, so sure open with it but the flipping back and forth was annoying as hell and honestly if it weren't for the wonderful performances, it would make it a 4 or lower. You could take all that nonsense out and poof a 10.
