Such an inaccurate portrayal of how we white South African's treated the "previously disadvantaged" black community, making us look like the monsters.

What BS!!!

I felt angered to no end after I saw how Clint Eastwood made us "apartheid regime" whites were like the scum of the Earth, and the black community is the ones that should be sympathized with (where it turned out that they were just as bad if not worse in politics then what the white government was). My ancestors probably rolled in their graves when they saw how this movie was portrayed.

If you wanna see a more accurate South Africa apartheid role try "Stander" it is much better portayed than this.

Morgan Freeman is just lovable.

A whole bunch of “really good” but was overall a bit slow for my personal preference without the level of feel good that leaves a lasting impression.

Directed by Eastwood with solid performances from Freeman and Damon, I am sure there are people out there that will absolutely love this movie. Unfortunately, for me it felt more like a historical drama opposed to a sports film which I didn’t totally expect going in.

It’s good, don’t get me wrong, just not my cup of tea.

A little bit hit-and-miss, though 'Invictus' still manages to produce the requirements for a solid sports drama.

Morgan Freeman and Matt Damon are two actors I enjoy a lot, but by the end of this 2009 film I was a tad underwhelmed by them. Freeman as Nelson Mandela sounds great on paper, but in reality you kinda lose what makes Freeman so great - his voice, given he has to act with a South African accent. He still does a good job nevertheless, I just don't think I'll remember this particular portrayal of Mandela - unlike Idris Elba's attempt in 2013's 'Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom'.

The merging of the two plot points - politics and rugby union - is done well, though the former is easily more interesting than the latter... and I say that as someone who loves sport and dislikes politics!

It's one that is worth a watch, it just didn't give me anything to remember.

The novelized history of the South African 1995 rugby world cup victory. Kind of plot and screenplay as in hundreds of other films narrating real stories with fictional or emotional elements, but nice to watch to learn something new.

I put off watching this for years. After all, a movie about rugby with Jason Bourne and Morgan Freeman as South Africans.

But I was really surprised, and enjoyed it. No doubt it is inaccurate, but it showed how two great ~~actors~~ men bought South Africa together a just a little bit.

So don't be put off. It's much better than it looks.

I just heard on the news that Nelson Mandela has passed away.

Not just in his home country South-Africa, but in the eyes of many people worldwide Nelson Mandela stood for a strong and powerful voice against racism. It is really a shame that his fight against suppression and racism took 46 years (1944-1990). By the time he became president of South-Africa in 1994 he was already an old man of 75 years old. He could have done so much more for the world and his country if he was released from Robben island years earlier. But nevertheless his accomplishments are just as great as those from others in name immortal people like Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Aung San Suu Kyi and mother Teresa.

May he rest in peace.

Great Movie...nuff said, then again I do love my Rugby!!
