Silly, Light-hearted, Heartwarming

Jaadugar is a delightful, heartfelt comedy that has its share of flaws, but excels to keep the heart of the film at its right place. Jitendra Kumar's latest is a tale of love, magic and football packaged neatly with a surplus amount of drama and humor. Jaadugar isn't an exceptional film that amazes you and drops your jaws but is a wholesome family entertainer courtesy of its silly characters, cleverly written dialogues, quirky and joyful moments, and inventive callbacks. The film and its events may likely seem to be irrational in many instances, but the performances, emotions, and wonderfully calibrated character arcs win you multiple smiles and happy tears throughout. Jitendra as usual is brilliant, supported fabulously by Javed Jafri and debutant Arushi Sharma. Overall, a light-hearted rom-com with gully football as the showstopper.

Jitendra Kumar's command over his dialogues and natural performance always tend to make me believe, that is a genuinely talented performer and he proves this yet again. He is shown as a man of flaws and someone who cares less, but his character gradually matures throughout the movie, and that's always a likable character arc. Biswapati Sarkar tends to put many joyful moments in his writings but sometimes, the weight becomes too much. I wish he had a much more nuanced approach to make this film much more relatable rather than making it fictional. But, I am just nit-picking in a world where Bollywood offers stale remakes and unnecessary biopics, films like Jaadugar have my deepest respect.
