one time watch. nothing new

A heartwrenching, slow burn, hit and run Bollywood drama where seamless performances of Vidya Balan & Shefali Shah put boiling emotions to test while showcasing different inner conflicts and moralities as subjects.

Jalsa is not for every Bollywood fanatic, its rather for someone who enjoys engrossing characterizations and filmography. An 18-year-old gets run over by a car that a powerful and famous journalist was driving and things get messy when a journalism intern starts investigating. To highlight the goods, sterling performances of Shefali and Vidya stay on top while the revelations of new subplots come unexpectedly to surprise you from time to time. Other supporting actors have done a fabulous job which includes Vidhatri Bandi as the intern and Rohini Hittangadi as the mother of Vidya. The film is a slow-burner psychological drama that tests your thinking and moralities, puts you in situations where you reflect on what would you have done in that situation. Top-notch direction by Suresh Triveni and brilliant writing leads to a powerful film. Watch it if you have patience as some may find it a bit sluggish but you just can't ignore the leads.
