Distinct, Hilarious, Thought Provoking

Malayalam film Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey is powerful satire which distinctively demoralizes patriarchy in the Indian society. Vipin Das’ film delivers a humourous experience while also conveying an important message forward, making it quite different from others that have come out on the subject. The film works wonders because the presentation of such relevant and sensitive issues of female are highlighted with lot of thoughtfulness and sense of intensional satire.

A women has aspirations and she deserves the three important things highlighted Justice, Equality and Freedom. With films like Thappad highlights sensitive issues in a dark tone, JJJH gives it a compelling touch of humour baked in satire. It's extremely funny and ironic in most parts but because the runtime is a bit too much it felt a bit dragged at times. Overall, the intention and humour parts of the film works wonders and expresses the motive of the film. The climax is a bit dull but nevertheless satisfying.

Darshana Rajendran is marvelous. She speaks very less in the film but her performance is easily a memorable one. She represents a large section of the Indian Society who can easily relate to her helplessness and this is difficult to achieve. She does it brilliantly. Basil Joseph on the other hand is equally good, his performance as a dominating husband who slaps his wife for trivial things is amazing. He understands his potential and the performance at times becomes over the top for all right reasons which increases the impact of the film even more. Kudassanad Kanakam as Rajesh's mother is superb.
