If you thought this movie was scary, then here's something even more scary....a pedophile directed this.

I like the movie, but hate the guy.

"Jeepers creepers
Where'd you get those peepers
Jeepers creepers
Where'd you get those eyes"

If you've seen this one, you know where he'll get them! And it doesn't only count for those peepers! I really like the myth and look from the creature in this one. It is a great, great design.

Anyway, we follow two siblings played by Gina Philips and Justin Long and they'll teach you to never drive around with dirty laundry. We follow them on their way back home along the countryside. They get scared by a rusty truck and later see the same truck parked and a dark figure throwing stuff down a tunnel. And you know it, it wouldn't be horror if these teenagers aren't going to check it out.

From that moment they are getting stalked by the dark figure and his rusty truck. It is well done and it keeps you interested. You want to know what happens. This was my second watch and I liked it. It's original and it has two sequels I've never seen. One came out last year! So yeah, I might watch them a bit later!

Anyway, Jeepers Creepers is worth a watch!

Man it’s hard to believe this movie is already over 20 years old. I watched it back when it first came out, but barely remembered any of it. Rewatched with my wife, and it was actually a good creepy movie.

This was just missing something to me. While it seemed chilling and horrid at first, many things did not make sense. The plot was good the first thirty or so minutes, but after that went downhill. I just couldn’t figure out why they were targeted, just because they’re college students? Was it because of the laundry? It ended unexpectedly, at least to me, but the ending didn’t really make sense either.

It starts genuinely terrifying, but soon turns into one of the worst movies I have ever seen. The moment they return to check on the church’s pipe, while Trish herself acknowledges they are acting on scary movie logic nonetheless, is the moment it turns into a shitshow. From there on, the movie is just a bunch of VERY annoying yelling and terrible acting (from Darry especially, who looked EXACTLY like this :eye::lips::eye: at all times). There is just SO much wrong with this movie, it is so bad and incoherent, that it feels like I’m being gaslighted by everyone when I see all these comments on the internet about it being a great horror movie or even a just OK one for that matter.

What is the moral of that? Don't be too inquisitive and charge your phone before your trip. ;)

As a fan of horror, this movie scared me as a kid. Now that I have watched it again, it still has a horrifying feel to it and is a pretty great horror flick. I can see how this helped Justin Long get into bigger movies.
There is so much more you want to know about this world, and I remember being excited to see more of it.

_Jeepers Creepers, where'd ya get those peepers?
Jeepers Creepers, where'd ya get those eyes?_

Jeepers Creepers borrows a lot of plot points from better horror movies but it makes a hybrid of them all that feels somewhat fresh. There are some pretty decent scary moments with the main villain. They develop a good and original mythology for the character and the design was great. I think this is an essential watch for a horror fan because it brings you enough of what you want.

I've watched this several times over the years and its stock keeps dropping with me. I initially appreciated its strangeness and better moments, which occur early when the "creeper" is first seen dumping body bags. Once we see more of it, and of Justin Long standing wide-eyed with his mouth gaping, the movie really loses a lot. "Jeepers Creepers" devolves into a shoot-em-up in a police station, ala "Terminator" without the suspense or menace. I don't know what the beast actually is and I could read into it metaphorically, but it's not a movie I care to think about any more than "creepy thing that smells laundry stalks two college kids".

The ending is definitely not a happy one and is actually a bit of a shock.

For an all-around "creepy" movie, this was a great flick. I have to hand it to Gina Phillips for really pulling off her role because there were numerous times I wanted to slap the stuffings out of her; I kept think "Darry" would be better off just dumping her on the side of the road for The Creeper and fending for himself. What an obnoxious... well, yeah, you know. So yeah, as a "creepy" movie, this had all the right elements but the conclusion left **a lot** to be desired.
How can someone be _"screaming and crying"_ (per the subtitles) when there's nothing left of them but the skin? I suppose maybe he was skinned alive? but the movie didn't bother telling us that, and really didn't leave enough wiggle room for us to figure that out?
So yeah...what should have been an absolutely bone-chilling final scene left me scratching my head. Apart from that, though - and especially for a movie that is over 20 years old now - this was well worth watching, especially in light of the fact that it's only 91 minutes in runtime.

This is like a monster of the week episode where they forgot to write Buffy the vampire slayer into the plot. The prosthetics look like early 2000s TV creatures. I saw this when it came out and was not impressed. I'm trying to rewatch old horror movies to see if I like them now and this one is just as bad as I remember.

I can't understand why this movie got such high rated scores. It's boring, its plot is beyond absurd, it's silly. Nostalgia? Even if it's pure nostalgia you gotta be honest with yourself...
There are many bad movies that I watch out of pure nostalgia, but at least I don't lie about how good they are.

i could excuse the bad acting if the main characters weren't all extremely annoying and just dumb. the amount of times the 2 siblings just stood there with wide eyes instead of running away got me so frustrated

I guess I'm in the minority here, who actually like the siblings, their banter was amusing. Good, creepy film with cool soundtrack
