I wanted to like it more, but it was too much about straight people making all about themselves.

I think that Grace Gummer as Anne stole the entire movie. It may be called 'Jenny's Wedding', but it seems to be about everyone else but Jenny or Kitty unfortunately.

I wouldn't say this movie was bad - it certainly wasn't, but it wasn't what I wanted out of a movie of such a description. I feel like the film was meant more FOR parents and closed minded adults, not people actively watching the movie because it for once deals with a lesbian couple. It was a letdown, but not however terrible.

I was not expecting too much chemistry between Jenny and Kitty bc come on it's Alexis Bledel she had no chemistry with all her lovers in Gilmore Girls. Anyway, I liked the movie in some ways, the intention was good, Grace Gummer's character made me laugh (thank you Meryl for the genes), but the writing was too poor. And I didn't even get started with Jenny's awful straight parents! 7/10.

This movie is Macklemore, there's no other way to describe it.
It's a bunch of clichè's thrown into a script, and there's basically no chemistry at all between the main characters.

Katherine Heigl stars in the insipid romantic comedy Jenny’s Wedding. When Jenny decides to marry her long term girlfriend she’s forced to finally come out to her parents and seeks their blessing. The plot is painfully cliché and formulaic. And Heigl’s performance is pretty bland, and she has no chemistry with her co-stars. Still, there are some attempts to avoid the broader coming out tropes and focus more on the relationships and broken trust. A stereotypical gay comedy, Jenny’s Wedding is a mediocre film that no one seems to be putting much effort into.

LGBTQ representation is necessary, but only when it's done in a responsible way. There are so many problematic statements in this movie, but the one that stands out is the assumption that you are a liar if you are in the closet. **You are not!**

The parents in this movie are homophobic, yes, but they seem to be really bad parents in general - selfish and ignorant.
For them it's a big problem,
having a daughter, who's in a happy long-term relationship with another woman but they also completely ignore the fact, that their other daughter is in an unhappy marriage, because when she finally decides to kick her husband out, the only reaction from their father is: "I don't blame you, the guy's a bum."
Anyway.. in the end, the only character I rooted for was Anne (played by **Grace Gummer**), _Jenny_'s straight sister who
kicks out said bum of a husband
. Her ramblings about
dead grass
were entertaining enough to add one rating point.

Horribly dated, this is the kind of film that would have worked better in the 80's when the idea of a gay relationship was still (slightly) taboo. My advice: watch Carol or God's Own Country instead.

Jenny's family pissed me off through most of the movie -- you selfish bastards, it's not about YOU. But I liked the movie a lot more than I'd expected to. It is certainly not to say I agreed with the family, but I thought it did a good job of showing everyone's points of view. I'm glad they all came around in the end though; sad to say that's not the case for a lot of people's families. My main gripe about the film is that they could've chosen actresses who at least had some chemistry together to play Jenny and Kitty.

I mean... I wanted to like it more as my bae Katherine Heigl is in it but I just couldn't. Poor from beginning to end. No chemistry at all between the two main characters Jenny and Kitty, I honestly felt awkward watching them two communicate let alone share a quick kiss. The only thing that made me laugh about this film was the whole 'grass' metaphor situation with Jenny's sister, Anne.

The title says it all.*Jenny's* wedding. There is absolutely nothing about her bride to be, Kitty. We don't even see her parents at the wedding. Was the comment about Kitty's parents in Portland to allude that Kitty hasn't been out of the closet to her family? Or did they break with her?

My favourite is the brother. Silently suspecting and not judging.
