A nice reconstruction of an Hong Kong exemplary trial. Interesting how it criticizes its Common Law legal system, with all the distortions associated (such as laymen who must take decision without having any legal background and expertise), unfortunately it often exaggerates in the parody or shows a subpar acting.

It takes so many minute details (arguably not so minute) to uphold justice. The system only works so long as the people are willing to make it work, yet people are only people. Didn’t feel like a two hour watch at all - great acting, nice cinematography. Liked the portrayal of the jury investigating a lot, by placing them in the scene and playing out different versions of the event. The last one after they decided was one without the defendants - the silence and that the “facts” are in their hands, they decide what the “truth” looks like, at least in court. Many lines and scenes up for interpretation, many ways to understand the portrayal of each character - evidence of the depth that the movie was able to bring the audience to explore.
