Astonishing performance. It’s a really good movie and worth watching if you are both a fan and a movie lover.

@veronika-park-leong “Watch” or “Play” is enabled when the movie or series is in Amazon Prime, Netflix, iTunes or Vudu etc., Since this movie is new it’s not available for streaming yet. Another good source to find where to watch is Justwatch App, ReelGood

I don't undestand the 9/10 and 10/10 reviews, in my opinion this movie is way overhyped.

I will give, that the actors performance is amazing, but then it's only famous people.

My main problem with the movie is, that nothing interesting happens, its basically like every other tragedy released over the last decade - just with DC's IP behind it.

There are entire segments in which literally nothing happens in the first 60m minutes which were a snoozefest, the character is walking somewhere and its followed by another scene in which, you guessed it: also nothing happens.

I only enjoyed the last 20 minutes, although they didn't hold a single unforseen twist either...

If you follow Batman mythology (Frank Miller's version, in particular), none of this movie will surprise you. The cinematography and location choices conveyed what new York felt like in the 80s. Mr. Phoenix did a great job of capturing chaos, just not as great as Heath Ledger. The big issue I have with the movie is... The point of it all? It was devoid of emotion, so I found myself watching but not caring much. The movie conveyed too much, yet gave nothing at all. Maybe that was the point? Wait for cable, if you haven't seen it.

@chopssake This actually is a great phrasing of my feelings on this movie. Was having difficulty articulating why I didn't like it that much.

@chopssake I didn't know very much about Batman coming into this film, the whole genre this falls in isn't really my cup of tea. I saw this because my girlfriend wanted me to come with her, and my friends told me that it stood on its own as a film and I didn't need to know anything else. I knew nothing about it, from plot to the media hype I've now discovered, and went in blind.

Perhaps this lack of knowledge means my opinion isn't worth much, and usually I wouldn't rate a film because of that, but I rated it only because I was told it could stand on its own feet.

I say this to point out that I seem like the opposite to you with regard to knowledge of Batman mythology, and yet I came to the same conclusion. I tried to enjoy it, but by the end I was wondering why I was there and when it was going to come to a point.

Mostly, I was troubled. From an outsider's perspective, it seemed morally bankrupt. It had lots to say but none of it ever came to a point other than "everything and everyone is bad". The audience in the cinema were all laughing at things I thought were awful, and gasping in delight at his acts of violence. I'm still not sure if it's because of something in the wider universe I'm unaware of, or whether they were actually siding with this awful character. I don't think I get it.

It looked wonderful, there was fantastic acting, and I enjoyed a fair chunk of it. I just came away wondering why it all existed, and I have a feeling that after typing this I may never think about it again.

I don't think I have ever seen Gotham city this bad in any other movie or video game. They portrayed it like the shit hole it is. They did a really good job.

100% Will watch again

Incredibly overrated. I don't mind dark movies that deal with depressing subject matter. But this is not intriguing. The character doesn't have enough depth. Not an engrossing movie.

100% agree.

I feel all the snowflakes are rating it 10/10 because they "relate".

As a film... predictable and slow plot. Borrowed and uninspired direction. Flat emotionally. And a wonderful portrayal by a hell of an actor.

Don’t expect this to be a typical super hero genre movie. This is an artistic cerebral tragedy that many will find brilliant
