Kevin Sorbo and Lara Jean Chorostecki star in the biblical drama _Joseph & Mary_. Despite the title, the film’s not really about Joseph and Mary, rather they’re used as supporting characters for a story about a rabbi and his wife whose children are killed during King Herald’s killing of newborns. While Sorbo and Chorostecki are solid, the rest of the cast is pretty weak; especially Katie Boland, who plays the rabbi’s wife. However, some of the fault has to lie with the script, which is full of trite, clichéd dialog and a meandering plot. Also, the costumes and sets look like costumes and sets, lacking a lived in feel. Poorly made and unfocused, _Joseph & Mary_ does a few interesting things and has a positive message, but doesn’t really work as a film.
