This movie was necessary to give people a glimpse into the life of Chairman Fred Hampton as well as the Black Panther Party. I liked hearing that Fred Hampton Jr. was on set every day to see this project actually happen.

I am consistently amazed at the racism inherent in our society, especially from those who are given the power to wield justice over us. It’s little wonder people like Fred Hampton rise up to up to take a stand. We are all human dammit, no matter our skin colour. What is wrong with those people who discriminate? What are they scared of? It’s maddening but thank goodness for films like this one that bring injustices to light.

[8.3/10] I took the title of *Judas and the Black Messiah* to be fanciful, something eye-catching and poetic that represents some of the larger themes of the film in a more lyrical way. But it’s more literal than I had imagined.
