:scroll: Plot : Set in the village areas of Wayanad, Malappuram and Kannur, Kappela revolves around an ordinary, innocent girl who comes to Kozhikode city to meet the person she loves but hasn't seen him.

:man:‍⚖ Review : Kappela starts by showing a simpleton life of a naive, innocent, young girl Jessy played by Anna Ben who lives in the Rural parts of Wayanad. The first half of the movie seems like a sweet melodrama when Jessy accidentally calls the wrong number to Vishnu played by Roshan Mattew. They gradually fall in love without seeing each other and the Debut Director Muhammed Mustahfa justifies the love through efficient screenplay. The love connection between Jessie and Vishnu is poetically framed with impeccable cinematography which includes the natural greenery and beauty of Kerala. The Music of the movie compliments the screenplay.

Contrary to the flow of the plot, second half starts with the introduction of Sreenath Bhasi as Roy whom any audience will hate. The Character is irritable, absurd and testy. He enters the scheme of things when Vishnu and Jessy are supposed to meet for the first time and tries to embroil their space. The Movie shifts gears drastically and the unexpected twist gives this movie a gripping edge.

Anna Ben is mind blowing and seems to live the character. She is a natural. Roshan is brilliant and has presented his character with genuine conviction, but Sreenath Bhasi for me is the more deserving performer of the whole lot. Outshines in his gray characterization. One Finely Developed movie which deceives the audience having a certain expectation.
