A pretty decent reboot of the 1980's Knight Rider, and even had a David Hasselhoff cameo to encourage his son to take the wheel of the new and improved KITT (Knight Industries Three Thousand), just like he had with the original KITT (the 2K version) 25 years ago. The new car is now a Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 KR instead of a Pontiac Firebird, so looks much cooler for the 21st century. It has a pretty nifty colour-change ability now to provide a low level disguise, a clever shield/self-repair system that can deflect bullets and even take a side impact from another vehicle travelling at high speed without so much as a scratch, whilst the other vehicle might as well have driven into a concrete wall. This pilot presumably won't have shown off all of KITT's new modifications, but I'm guessing that season 1 will showcase the rest. The acting seems to be about the same level as it was in the original, so don't expect top-class performances from anyone. There is a little cheesy humour and macho posturing, again reminiscent of the original, but overall it shows some promise of easy, family-friendly viewing, if the show follows the vibe of this film.
