Not much to it but the acting was phenominal and the direction was good.

A realistic snapshot of festering regret born from lifelong addiction, and one of the roads that might take a person down later on. No real plot, just a depressing film. Should be required viewing for young adults who enjoy recreational drug use and are thinking of having children.

My 5 is a little misleading. It's only a 5 because I just wasn't interested in the movie. That's not because I didnt relate to some of the issues. The quality of writing and acting was very good. The film looked great. It's a slice of life.

The directing of this movie was remarkable. The angles of the scenes, along with the soundtrack played beautifully with the context of the film. It's definitely a movie where you have to be in a certain mood to pay attention to all the small details surrounding the character's but its well played out and has a very rewarding ending. This is a movie about a dysfunctional family who has that one person in their life who has been fighting with mental illness (I assume) therefore it's great to watch if you know anyone or if you yourself have been placed in a awkward family position due to the "odd one out".

Painfully realistic portrait of the addict narcissist personality. Very thorough and atmospheric. Excellent use of various devices. Unfortunately it wraps up in a bit too much of a hurry. The
collision of the drunken self indulgent mania and the serene self insight
is brilliant but it gets lost in the emotional turmoil as a spectator. A little space to breathe and land before the final ring would have been great.

Never really felt introduced to the characters, so the third act loses some oomph. Totally mischaracterized as horror - don't go in expecting anything but drama or you'll be disappointed.

A woman's final attempt at redemption with her broken family. An absolute nightmare of a drama that should go in the horror category. Very uncomfortable watch, my hands were sweaty the whole time. It remains unclear what this is about until the last third. It's one of those that would benefit from a rewatch, as I wasn't loving it until the final 5 minutes. Great performance from Krisha Fairchild, nauseatingly good camerawork and absolutely brilliant score. That was one hell of a downer though, you have to be in the right mindset - although I doubt you could ever be for this.

My chest still gets tight thinking about this film. This is a family drama that's produced like a horror film. A woman in her sixties has a son whom she abandoned years ago. She returns for a family gathering but she also brings her personal demons with her. This is just a disturbingly intimate story of addiction filled with suspense and anxiety-inducing moments. It does a hauntingly good job showing the experience of carrying the weight of an abusive family member. It has such a chaotic experience with tense family dynamics and there are many shots that give me claustrophobic feelings. The disorienting score effectively brings up the tension. Krisha Fairchild gives incredibly raw performance here as she experiences her relapse but managers to capture a multitude of emotional complexities.
