While technically the movie is well made, the story is lacking in every corner. From it's 86 minute runtime you can easily subtract another 20 minutes, a little more than 10 of those were used for a montage to show that her campus is indeed empty and the rest splits for the title sequence and credits.... So, what happens in that hour that is left? A bit of cat and mouse play and what ever you've seen in other movies before.
It's just mediocore at best and fails to build up any tension. Instead of watching this you might check out You're Next or The Den which share some ideas but work better.

it's just your typical cat and mouse thriller only poorly made. Full of the typical clichés, you know what's going to happen before it does. It attempts to build suspense but barely does so. For a standard runtime it feels dragged out if anything. It's a film you would have in the background late at night if for some reason you had nothing else to watch while you have a browse through your phone. Not sure why but it felt like a film from the noughties era, it isn't one I'll remember in a week's time and certainly not re-watchable unfortunately. But as a one time gig, it's okay for some background noise.

Formulaic and trite, Kristy is a poorly made B-horror film. The story follows a college student who chooses to stay on campus over the Thanksgiving break and is stalked by a murderous cult that preys on privileged young girls that they calls “Kristys.” The plot is ridiculous and the characters are poorly written. Haley Bennett and Ashley Greene do what they can, but they don’t have much to work with. And the directing doesn’t do the film any favors either, as the low-budget quality really shows. Monotonous shlock, Kristy is clichéd and uninspired.

While not without its flaws, Kristy takes an overplayed premise and somehow manages to keep it interesting with some well done tension and some unconventional revenge tactics that come together to make a fairly decent (if a little jumpy) horror thriller.
