I'm a huge Prince fan and Purple Rain changed what a music-biopic should be... Less than a year after Purple Rain smashed all records, the nascent rap world got its version - Krush Groove.

I watched it to see Sheila E. That was the only thing that kept me tuned in.

See, it's simple. The music is crap so the film is crap. The acting is hokey, the script is poor. Like all cheap 80s films, it suffers from this. But Purple Rain had great music so its acting and script were largely irrelevant.

Th eonly good songs in here are the Prince-penned 'Holly Rock' and 'A Love Bizarre'.

If it wasn't for those songs and an acknowledgement of the era it comes from, this is probably the worst film I've seen...

Just saw this movie for the first time today, after not watching it for all these years! I'm sure I would have rated it much higher back then when the music was new.

I can't understand how a person could write a review and put down the music when it features the hits of Run-D.M.C. and Jam Master Jay!

I'm glad I watched the movie and enjoyed it! It's a story that features the struggles of entrepreneurs running a business, artists trying to find success in the music industry, and relatives dealing with family loyalties. In between that, you get lots of musical performances!

Remember it’s McDaniels, not McDonald’s!
