Go into this one without taking it very seriously. A true comedic masterpiece.

Dumb childish jokes, bad cgi and effects, a weak stoy
9/10

Seriously though if you enjoy parodies this is a great and unique one, repurposing an old kung fu movie by badly dubbing and editing over scenes in addition to adding in some new bits of footage.

Probably one of the dumbest films ever made (translation: go and watch it now!). Most of the scenes are taken from an old kung fu movie and have been redubbed and edited as a parody with a white dude’s face pasted on top of the original Hong Kong actor.

The dubbing is out of sync and poorly acted to create the same mood of old martial arts movies, but most jokes are clearly improvised on the go. It’s funny for the first five minutes but gets boring quickly. On the other hand, the action scenes are superb, most notably the infamous cow fight and the gopher-chucks.

Actual score: 4.5
Guilty pleasure score: 8
Final score: 6

>"But, isn't Betty a woman's name?"

This is a classic. The impressive part was them filming over an old 1970's movie, and I remember laughing so much as a kid while watching this. It doesn't make me laugh as much now, but the all the animal humor still holds up.

"Pay no attention to Wimp Lo, we purposely trained him wrong... as a joke."

I must have watched Kung Pow so many times when I was a teenager. Always with friends. It's a film that you'll have more fun with watching it with a group. Pop open some beers and watch one hell of a silly film.

I can still quote a lot of the jokes, I know what will happen and when, I still laugh at all the silly stuff. Nostalgia really helps here. If you start watching this to take it seriously you will not get any enjoyment out of it. Be ready for some of the silliest stuff you've ever seen.

The scene were Master Pain tells everyone they have to call him Betty from now on is still epic. The owl joke, the claw, French aliens, Tonguey, the cow, Wimp Lo, Betty's go to tune and the intermission.

I still had loads of fun and will never get enough of Kung Pow.
