Thirty-four year old Ramsès has established himself as a clairvoyant in La Goutte d’Or, Paris. A shrewd manipulator and something of a poet, he built a sound business consoling people. Elusive and dangerous youths, freshly arrived from the streets of Tangier, disrupt his business and the whole neighbourhood. Until the day Ramses has an actual vision.

Like Black Magic: it's dark, makes little sense and will haunt you longer than you're ready for. This is the story of a charlatan who pretends to speak with the dead and isn't ready when they start to speak back. Set in the worst district of Paris (the original French title references the rue de la Goutte d'Or, which lies at the heart of this zone), the film explores with raw grace the dark side of Paris, the dark side of people and the dark side of life. Helmed by Karim Leklou (arguably the bravest and most inspired French actor working today), Goutte d'Or is creepy, real and surprising, and is hard to leave behind even after you go.
