A good film overall with excellent performances from the cast and atmospheric direction from Tonnerre. The plot will be familiar to those who have read Lawrence's novel but that shouldn't be a reason to skip out on this small gem.

Netflix’s _Lady Chatterley’s Lover_ is an adequate but rather shallow adaptation of D.H. Lawrence’s novel. The story follows the wife of a wealthy aristocrat who has an affair with one of the estate’s field hands and is forced to choose between love and her social position. Emma Corrin gives a fairly strong performance but the script is weak; particularly at developing the romance and the deterioration of Chatterley’s marriage. However, the sets and costumes are exceptionally well-done, and director Laure de Clermont-Tonnerre does an impressive job at capturing the beauty of the English countryside. Yet while it’s a well-crafted film, _Lady Chatterley’s Lover_ is a mediocre period drama that doesn’t offer any new insight on the material.

Pretty people fucking in pretty places. Aside from the cast being eye candy this movie didn't have much going for it.

Also the husband suggesting that she have child with other man was more hilarious than shocking... I had thought he would feel bad that he is not able to give her a child and hence he would suggest such a thing which would shock her and later he would regret suggesting something like that.

no chemistry amongst the leads thats the huge drawback of this film.. that husband of her.. there is no connection between them I wonder why she married him in the first place and he is so bloody annoying anyone would have an affair... also this is too modern setting. just doesnt click..

It's ok, but will never go down as a classic.

There isn't (thankfully) a whole bunch of dragged out scenes before they start knocking boots, but I'm sure in real life back then it would have taken a bit more time to work up the courage to roger the bosses wife!

The husband is a wet noodle with zero personality.

7/10
