It wasn't until I started my M. Night marathon that I realized this movie existed, well now I know why I never heard of it. It feels like a story coming right out of a child's head: silly, convoluted and mostly incoherent. So much so that I just couldn't get into it at all, especially in the second half. It has a great cast but the performances are flat and forced all around, dialogue feels off, the mythology was mildly engaging and the wolf was kinda cool. An absolute mess all around, the kind of movie that comes out straight to digital these days.

This movie was HORRIBLE. Bad direction, bad script, bad dialogue, bad acting. Stupid plot, terrible execution, super corny story. I hated this.

Magical, and emotionally charged, children's bed-time story M. Night Shyamalan developed after creating it for and with his children. It's a nice story, but it's made great in film by all of the character actors (and there are so many memorable characters and actors here).

One of the characters in the film says that there is no originality left in the world. Well, he should watch the movie he is in because this, if nothing else, is an original film.

First, I wish M. Night Shyamalan would stop putting himself in front of the camera. His presence in this movie is distracting. The characters were well done but I really could not have cared less about them or their plight. Paul Giamatti did a nice job as Cleveland Heep, the story's hero.

This movie feels like a Shyamalan ego trip. The influences of Serling and Hitchcock in his previous films is truly appreciated and has made for some great movie watching. But with "Lady In The Water" his stock continues to drop. "The Village" was a hard pill to swallow and this one's even tougher. If seeing a different but not necessarily a good movie is your goal then give "Lady In The Water" a try. Otherwise, see one of his other movies again.

What a bore. A ridiculously pompous, twee pile of crap. M night is a world saving author blah blah. Watched it for WHM. Maybe more later but too exhausted thinking about why I hate this movie to write it out. I gave this a heart bump because of my love of Bryce Dallas Howard and Big G.

I didn't remember very much from this one, just some parts.
This is a story about finding the purpose of each one in life and what the film tries to pass through is the strenght of a comunity if every single one of the members were commited to one goal.
Stories that pass through ages from mouth to mouth or fairy tales sometimes are important, specially if you are a child. So I felt a little bit of a child trying to discover what would be the mystery behind the mystique of the story and I guess that was what Shyamalan wanted us to feel when he wrote that story.
I think Paul Giamatti is a great actor and I enjoyed watching him in this. Bryce Dallas Howard was good too and M. Night Shyamalan has a very significant character in this, very moving.
The score was very good like it's usual on any other Shyamalan film.
Overall it was enjoyable. Not great not bad, just okay.

A good idea for a movie with a fine cast. Is unfortunately Shyamalan’s most forgettable. Not his worst but not memorable at all.
It’s one of his movies that looks great in the trailer. Then you get a movie where he encourages stiff robotic acting from good actors and there’s way too much dialogue.
Shyamalan loves his own dialogue as much Michael Bay loves explosions. A lot of his dialogue can be pretty bad too. Watch the Happening for the instance.
