Cinema Paco 1 Image 3.5/5 Sound 2.5/5. Great movie that I was not seen before. Great performances and great script and staging

Often rated as one of the best film noir's of all time, this classic takes us deeply into obsession and jealousy. Performances by Clifton Webb and Judith Anderson are excellent, but I think that Dana Andrews was seriously miscast for the role of Det. McPherson. The film, I felt, was a bit obvious in the end.

Man alive, could not get into this one. I think the fault lies largely with Dana Andrews' bizarre performance: he sleepwalks through the movie with an air of detachment that renders the character unintelligible. He pops out his pocket game at random moments like he's an 8 year old off his meds, and the obsession with the Laura character just didn't track. Nothing here really worked for me, I'm afraid.

Vincent Price without a mustache? Plot twists? A Great ending? Hidden stuff? A shotgun blast to the face? Great dialogue? A scrubby detective? A beautiful dame? Laura has it all. Gen Tierney steals a show. A death but not the death you expect. A great ending and a perfect 90 minute run time.

I went into Laura expecting a lot and it even surpassed it. It had been on my watchlist for awhile but I'm happy to finally being able to cross it off and down the line it'll sure be a film I'd watch again. Maybe now I can find out if many subtle hints were dropped before we found out what truly happened!

If you are not big on Noir movies or you haven't seen many yet, Laura could be a great point to start diving into this classic genre!

I liked a black and white movie. I am officially a film student now!

A very interesting movie. The characters are very cartoonish, I mean, they are bohemian in their own way. The plot is not completely unpredictable, and that's very good, as it allows the viewer to play detective. It is not a complex film but it is not obvious either.

The only thing that has aged a bit may be the end, but it still remains a magnum opus.

Great film noir with one of my favourites Gene Tierney. Lots of surprises in this movie regarding the magical Laura. A great watch if you love murder mysteries. Great to see how the unraveling of Laura’s murder is tied in with the investigator falling in love with the victim.

An entertaining murder mystery noir with an interesting antagonist in the character of Lydecker.
