Like snow fungus: a little sweet and a little bland and it can grow on you.

This story of a rudderless boy drifting through life after the death of his father feels autobiographical and detached like a row boat with a broken rope and no oars.

Originally, I found the film charming and not much more, but after sitting with it and remembering the feelings, the performances by Paul Kircher and Juliette Binoche, and the amazing music, I was like a belated circular orgasm because I finally came around. [I'm so sorry, I know we all thought I was better than that but apparently I'm not.]

[Göteborg FF '23] Honoré's autobiographical film is a story of growing up through pain, a chronicle of the search for identity. But it dwells too much on a certain self-indulgence that doesn't benefit the story, it becomes repetitive and melodramatic, although it's supported by the rebellious naturalness of the leading actor, whose emotional introspection devours his own family. There are some decisions that seem unwise, such as giving her mother a voice when she has always maintained a secondary position, but on the other hand, it succeeds in telling the story from a temporary ambiguity.
