@adafeloz Sorry you didn't like it! It's an interesting look at the destabilisation of a country after a, worryingly plausible, large scale cyberattack. The movie critiques our over reliance on digital conveniences, and champions older, more analogue technologies as a more reliable, persistent alternative. It also critiques our inability to trust our fellow man due to the digital echo chambers we've built ourselves, and the prejudices these spaces create within us without ever meeting the people it warns us about. Additionally, it shows the younger generations, unheard and toothless (heh) in their protests to be heard by the elders, resorting to over consumption of material things and media to escape and block out the incoming end of the world. Hope you can give it another try, I truly loved this one and think it's quite poignant given the times. It might even be seen as prophetic if we're on the cusp of a similar, real world cyberattack like this.

@adafeloz The point was , that if US has a cyber attack it definitely would be done iran and russia and nothing to do with CIA/deep state or whatever you want to call it. i.e. predictive programming for people who dont have their mental faculties under control.

I liked the film, even though logic was often sacrificed for effect. For example:
G.H. reaches the beach and discovers a wristwatch sticking out of the sand. He uncovers the watch and discovers an arm. He looks up and sees the body of a pilot belonging to the arm. He continues to look around and sees that there are bodies and debris all over the beach, including huge pieces of debris from the plane. The effect was nice, but of course you would have seen the debris and the bodies immediately, and not discovered the watch first.
Oh yes he certainly did. It's the director that showed the audience (us) the watch first and then the debris.

@meiner1er Or the fact that when
GPS fails the tankers crash on the shore like there's no captain or crew to use their eyballs, and planes fall out of the sky (2 of them on the same exact spot!!)
You don’t know what racism is. And by the way, it has nothing to do with the plot of the movie, but keep waiving your so-called “victim” card since it seems to comfort you. <br /> <br /> Thanks for playing.

Only the daughter does, the father is much more nuanced. In that way it's good and realistic, as younger people are more idealist and a a little bit less pragmatic than the elder. Maybe you're in that case too, take a step back and analyze the context some more <br /> <br /> Also her mom is clearly white, since her dad is black but the daughter is very light skinned. It's simplicity stated when they discuss and she said "even mom would agree with me."

Wokeness Alert as always! White ppl are idiots, racists or c*nts, only the black ppl have common sense and answers. Typical Netflix bullcrap, all frill no thrill. Interesting premice that deflates half way. The ending is just insulting. 4/10 cuz I feel magnanimous

If you only care about an ending, maybe you should watch some other kind of cinema. There's plenty of choices for you.

If you care about a great script, superb cast and acting, beautiful camera work, intriguing plot, a tension feeling without really knowing what's happening kind of movie, well, this one is for you.

Sam Esmail has delivered a great work here. It ticks all the boxes that you could expect from him.

An ending like this one, is very subjective, but it works perfectly for me. It just feels right. We found out what was really happening, and Esmail put it in a clever and kind of funny way.

Read the synopsis and don't watch the trailer, the less you know about the plot, the better you enjoy it. I loved it.

Another not so subtle wokeish pile of crap from Netflix. The premise promised so much, and yet the movie delivers so little. I literally knew the moment I saw the weird daughter that the last shot of the film would be her face. Anti white, anti government, anti men, ultimately leads to anti… itself.
