Funny, warm, honest, and realistic. A beautiful example of using comedy to examine hard facts of Black men’s lives in America.

I had high hopes for this movie, but I found it really boring. There were a couple of good things here and there, but overall, there is something that doesn't really fit, maybe it would have been better if it was a drama instead of a comedy, because the dramatic aspect of the movie is good.

@rafaelpires815 Yeah but you gave Twilight a seven, so you obviously have bad tastes in movies.

This is a very special film.

It features one of the most charismatic actors of all time, Eddie Murphy, with an actor who was at his height, Martin Lawrence. Coupled with a fine director in Ted Demme and a brilliant, stretching, heartfelt plot line - this should have done more than it did.

I've seen it twice now and it lingers in the memory.

The final 45 minutes has real pathos. The first 30 minutes has stuttering fires and misfires of that Eddie Murphy magic. The bulk of the film though hums along really nicely.

A very special plot and a very praiseworthy execution. If you've not seen it, see it. It's well worth it.

7.5/10
