This was a good movie with some excellent acting by many to include Daniel-Day Lewis. I am not sure how accurate it was in its entirety, but this movie was not all that I had thought it would be. Don't get me wrong, it was very good just not as good as I thought it should have been being that we are dealing with arguably the greatest President in American History.

I liked to learn more about the U.S. history, but for non-american audience is a little deep. Amazing Daniel Day-Lewis.

Daniel Day-Lewis has one of his best performances here. The supporting cast, with a shocking amount of familiar faces, is also very good too. It's well shot but the pacing is a little off. It can be boring at times and is a little too long. Still it's a great movie and anyone that has any interest in American history should see this.

A movie that I should have liked a lot more, especially with such phenomenal individual components. The acting is great (but what do you expect with Daniel Day-Lewis). The screenplay adaptation is really good. The story itself is very interesting, focusing on the passage of the 13th Amendment which doesn't often get that much play in films about Lincoln. The directing is standard Spielberg, for better or worse (you kind of know what you'll get with Spielberg). But when you put these great elements together, it feels like something got lost, that the movie is less than the sum of its parts. It genuinely surprised me that I came away feeling like this. It's hard to say if the individual parts didn't quite mesh together well, or if they somehow interfered with each other, or if it was so played-up that it couldn't meet my expectations. These aren't exactly objective reviews but reflect my opinion. Recommended, but again, with reservations.

Wisely avoiding the usual biopic template, Spielberg focuses on a specific period in Lincoln's life and his attempts to pass a critical amendment to the US constitution. Indeed, many of Spielberg's directorial flourishes are absent here and even the score by Williams is understated. Spielber More

This is a flat out great movie. I first watched it several years ago and enjoyed it, so recently I noticed it on the IMDB streaming service and decided to watch it again. I still think it is great. I guess I had forgotten that it was a Spielberg film, so why wouldn’t it be great? It was many years More

It lacked a big deal of rhythm but the revision of the history and, specially, the great performance by Day-Lewis makes it a movie worth watching.
